Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurocognitive decline disease with no cure and has multiple aetiologies. Currently, available treatment is single-targeted, and disease management is through polypharmacy, which is costly and burdensome to both the patient and caregiver. Bidens pilosa (B. pilosa) is a widely distributed plant reported to have pharmacological effects on over 40 diseases, chiefly attributed to its flavonoid and polyacetylene phytochemicals.
